Do you have this going on in your area?
I’m asking because, during the last year, at least in my area, I learned that of several friends and family are experiencing sporadic, or consistent, vertigo. Some are managing it with Rx meds. Others are doing physical maneuvering techniques that stop it immediately, but vertigo returns later. And some (such as me) are applying homeopathic therapy to prevent or stop it.
A few weeks ago, I had my first incident of profound vertigo, unlike anything I’ve ever experienced before.
I didn’t feel dizzy, like the sensation that comes with motion-sickness, but suddenly, I “saw” the room tilt on its side. My legs lost strength and felt very heavy with the sensation of being pulled hard, toward the floor. I grabbed hold of a counter, as hard as I could, and next, a spontaneous shout of, “Jesus!” erupted. Immediately, literally that fast, the episode stopped.
This has never happened before and hasn’t happened, with that type of intensity, since. However, I’m still experiencing infrequent, much lighter, and easier to deal, with occurrences.
I knew of others in our area who’d developed vertigo over the last year. It struck me as odd in that it was a new development for them, and that we all live within less than 50 miles from each other, scattered throughout three neighboring counties in Southern Indiana.
I've heard of multiple cases of single episodes of vertigo to those that last for months, in areas where there has been earthquake activity. There are lots of articles about this, but here's a link to one of them if you'd like to check it out for yourself: Earthquake and dizziness
In checking our local history, I didn’t find any recent reports on earthquake activity. So, scratching that possibility off the list, at least for now. But, the idea of this somehow being related to a catalyst in our area is still nagging at me.
Curious and seeking...
If you’re having similar incidents of vertigo in your area, please leave me a note about it in the comments, or shoot me a message through the contact page. I’m quite curious as to whether or not the local cases are the only ones limited to a region, or if there are other territorial clusters elsewhere, and what they might have in common with this region.
I pray you’re not having vertigo issues of your own and that your coming week is packed with abundant blessings. Shalom!
