Imagine a military attack, or the threat of it, on your home and having to leave all your belongings behind while you flee to safety. It happens every day to men, women, and children. This is an insanely difficult type of situation to bear for anyone but it’s especially challenging for women and girls, forced to survive on bare minimums, in a crowded shelter or refugee camp.
The last few weeks, I’ve been getting acquainted with All Things Possible Ministries, and the amazing backstory of their founder, Victor Marx. I’ve been going through the support programs provided by this ministry and each section has been fascinating, often moving me to tears and prayer for this marvelous team the good Lord has put together to accomplish missions that could simply not be done without His hand of grace and mercy guiding them. I’m equally moved by the plight of the people who are often the target of these missions, and so thankful for the help being provided to them by the All Things Possible team.
Team ATP doesn’t just undertake missions in safe-zones. They go where needed, and as soon as they can get there.
The ATP Dignity Kits program was of special interest to me due to my own history of sketchy health and chronic illness. Women in war-zones or those who’ve survived to make it to a refugee camp have dealt with horrors I’ve never been exposed to, other than via the news or stories of my family and friends, serving in the military and healthcare fields. These women are shouldering more than their own survival struggles. They’re often providing care for their own children, and/or children of lost loved ones who are either too ill or injured to care for their littles, or they didn’t survive to make it to the camps. The Dignity Kits provide some basic, yet essential, items for women’s self-care in places with no other source to obtain them. Each kit usually contains these items... ? Menstrual pads ? bath soap ? multiple pairs of underwear ? detergent powder ? sanitary napkins ? a flashlight ? toothpaste ? toothbrush ? comb All of these are housed in an easy-to-carry pack and the items are selected specifically for the needs of women and girls. Not only do they provide much, MUCH needed help, but the package assembly and distribution are also done by the women in the camps, and they’re paid for their work. The money isn’t much by our US standards, but God makes much of little, and in the camps, the monies earned help provide other necessities for these women’s families. It also helps reinforce the understanding that their lives matter. They’re of divine design, have a divine purpose and their work is crucial in making life better for their entire community. Below is a video, featuring Eileen Marks (wife of Victor Marks) with a wonderful description and motivation behind the ATP Dignity Kits project.
I appeal to you to consider a couple of things regarding this post.
? These women and girls are trying to survive tragedies. Please pray for them as if they were your own loved ones, in dire circumstances. ? To as well, give a bit of your daily time to provide prayer cover for Team ATP members at home and abroad. The Dignity Kits are just one of many other projects in which their work is an ongoing mission in saving and helping restore lives. ?Should the good Lord lay it on your heart to bless them with a monetary gift, please follow through and be blessed by your offering. It’s safe and easy to do via this link: VictorMarx.com/Donate. You can even specify which aspect of ATP Ministries you prefer to send your gift. For PayPal fans, there is also a PayPal option, which is my favorite method. No muss. No fuss. They get it immediately and you’re provided an immediate receipt. ?While on the ATP site, I pray you’ll take a few moments to tour it. You’ll be blessed for your effort. This is the first of an ongoing series to cover and promote ATP Ministries as far as God will take it, at least through By the Way... I chose the Dignity Kits project because it provides immediate help for women and girls, who often have the burden of looking after much more than themselves in these camps. Next month’s focus will be a project of great value as well, but this one is the one the Lord impressed me to begin the series with. In my 56 years, I’ve learned this aspect of life to be always true, what we give to bless others is returned to us in far greater measure than which we gave it. God’s promises are absolute. 'Give, and it shall be given to you; good measure, pressed, and shaken, and running over, they shall give into your bosom; for with that measure with which ye measure, it shall be measured to you again.' Luke 6:38 (Young’s Literal Translation)
My thanks to you for your visit. I pray the Lord Jesus Christ covers you in favor and grace.
Shalom
