In the beginning, the first piercing (left ear) helped a bit, but before long, the migraines were back, just as painful and lasting nearly as long as before. So, I got the second piercing in my right ear. Within a month, and the first onset of a migraine I noticed a difference. The episodes were still awful, but they didn’t last as long, and over time I’ve needed fewer pain meds to help me endure them. The latest experience I didn’t see being part of my story for quite a long time to come, but here it is in short. About a month ago, I developed a blood clot near my bicep. I was put on some meds to help get rid of it, and while on them, I can’t take the migraine cocktail of ibuprofen and antihistamines. When the first migraine happened, my only recourse was to have my sister do reflexology therapy on me, stay in a dark room with an ice pack on my head until it subsided. It was quite painful, but gone in two days. A record for me in short duration. The next migraine came two weeks later. We did the same procedure and this one lasted less than 12 hours. Yup, the daith piercings work and they keep working better and better. So, if you’ve been on the fence about having them done, hoping this helps you make a decision. They’re worth a try even if it takes them a while to be highly effective.
