Bright Side Trumping Dark Side

“For where your treasure is, there will your heart be also.” Matthew 6:21 King James Version (KJV)
With the chaos erupting around our country, I’ve been making it a point to consistently focus on positive things–things that can positively change situations and even entire lives. One of the easiest methods of doing that was to stop watching main-stream media and get accurate news from alternative news sources. I admit to learning and implementing that years ago, but it maintains in being timely and effective.

Another fav weapon against dismal thoughts and feelings is reading. I’m in a new book, that I’ll share a review of soon, but for today’s post I wanted to introduce you to some smaller, faster yet very effective reads via some web-writers.
Here are two sources I hope you’ll check out because they’re positively infectious, in all good ways. A few other reasons are listed for you below...

❣ Great content!
❣ Short, fast reads!
❣ Your visit alone to the sites helps support Christian, independent businesses!

I hope you’ll also consider leaving a comment on the site because that helps the writers even more! They encourage you and you encourage them. Your visit also helps increase their web-ratings.

So, here we go!
Life’s Wallpaper
This first one is a new site with a weblog, and a book store coming soon. It’s owned and operated by L.D. Browning, a writer and minister, who spent many years working in the mental health field. Her work was often focused on child development and working with families who have children with disabilities.

Her information is especially good because it’s from a personal perspective, not textbook reading. She provides real-life experience in her content that’s helpful to everyone who wants to make use of it. Her writing isn’t just interesting, but faith-building and often fun to read. She’s a native of Appalachia and her posts on life, in general, are worth a look-thru!

Next up is a site that's not new, but some of the posts are.
Meanwhile, On Story Street...
Last week’s post on Nee’s Desk (my sister’s blog) is titled, Prayer Storms Rising. It’s an excellent post, as are many others on her site. But, this post is particularly interesting due to the subject and timing!

That old saying of which wolf you feed is the one that rules is true. Her work and her posts make it easy to see where her wolf’s loyalty rests–it’s in Jesus.

Nee is a dedicated prayer warrior. I don’t mean someone who prays throughout the day, but someone who dedicates a great deal of their time to prayer. Specific, targeted prayer that’s echoed by others, globally, with the same focus.

Her subjects often touch on her professions and hobbies. Working in several capacities, life is never boring. She’s a pro-artist, who is often commissioned by clients to produce specific paintings or photographs. She’s also a reflexology therapist. One of her favorite hobbies is mounted archery.

Past that, she’s an author and is one of my primary sources for suggestions on which faith-based books to promote. It was through Nee I found the works of some literary greats like James Byron Huggins and Linda J. White. But, for the record, it was me that introduced her to Peretti. There are several more, but you get the point.
Nee used to go to the book store, and wait on God to show her which book she was supposed to buy. Seriously. And she has a wonderful library packed with books that were at first, much more than an interesting read. They were books that often answered a question or lent insight to a challenge she or a loved one was facing, or even a topic our great God had directed her global team to be in prayer about.
The topics have included things like human trafficking, pornography production, spousal and child abuse, alcoholism, and other drug addictions, the spirit of suicide. There are more, but again, you get the point. She’s a great asset to Christendom, and passionate about her spiritual assignments. Many facets of these activities surface in her writing.
Kingdom Investments
In my household, we choose to invest in Christian owned and operated businesses, whenever possible.

We don’t purchase or rent products from Disney or Netflix. Instead, we choose products from companies like Pureflix and VidAngel instead. We use VidAngel with faith-based movie content and avoid movies with adult content.

It's the same with other products.
We prefer to invest in the Kingdom because that’s investing in both in this life and the next. God’s people are in the know on where ultimate help flows from. It’s all in King Jesus. He doesn’t just have the answers. He IS the answer. He IS the help. He IS the King and Creator of all.
“Every good and perfect gift is from above, coming down from the Father of the heavenly lights, who does not change like shifting shadows.” James 1:17 New International Version (NIV)
Sooner or later, everyone who has ever lived is gonna meet Him. Investing in His Kingdom helps arrange it to be sooner, allowing help to arrive and the recipients to live in love and liberty when they give over their lives to Him.

There is no greater power to encounter. The return on our investment into His kingdom is far greater than what we can ever put into it.

So, now you’ve got a few more choices of where in the Kingdom you can choose to invest. Here’s a list for you, in event you wanna copy/paste it elsewhere for fast reference.

❣ Meanwhile, On Story Street via Nee (Alicia Jaye Phillips), blogger//author/multi-media artist
❣ James Byron Huggins (faith-based thrillers)
❣ Linda J. White (faith-based FBI thrillers)

Thanks so much for your visit today! I pray my work both encourages you and inspires you to be to dig deeper into your own potential and to use the talents God has given you, to be an asset to Him and His people. The return is an eternity of blessing, perfect companionship and a greater love than anything any of us can imagine.
“For in him we live and move and have our being.' As some of your own poets have said, 'We are his offspring.” Acts 17:28 (NIV)
Until next time,

Shalom!
