Steve Roller has been a noteworthy influencer among independent creatives for well over a decade. Several years ago, he took a real-life concept and established it in the virtual world. He called it Café Writer. Once established, independent creatives began showing up at this virtual gathering place, from around the globe. There they absorbed, gleaned, were mentored and many became mentors themselves.
They’re known as the Café Writers and, like their founder, their collaborative efforts are being rewarded with success. I took this description from the Café Writer website. In it, Steve lays out the story of Café Writers, what it is, and how it continues to develop.
Whether you actually write in a café or not, Café Writer is a metaphor for a new breed of writer.
Most important, the Café represents a new collaborative gathering spot. It’s a place where you can engage in lively conversations with other members of this helpful community. Or simply pop in and out to check out content from the resource library as you wish. Hemingway, F. Scott Fitzgerald, and James Joyce had the Shakespeare and Company Bookshop in Paris in the 1920s. Today’s talented and ambitious people like you have their own virtual hangout right here. Beyond conversation, you can also tap into the collective wisdom of the group. Get guidance, feedback, or copy critiques from other Café members at any time of day or night, from anywhere in the world. I’m glad you’re here. Please take a stroll through the Café website. You’ll find an incredible wealth of information in our well-stocked resource library, updates on our upcoming live event get-togethers as part of Big Ideas Retreat™, and information about the new benefits of membership coming soon.
I want to highlight the site's blog for you, to ensure you don’t miss it when you visit the site. It houses a blog-roll of easy-to-view posts with helpful content related to workshops, group news, as well as tips and tools of the trade for the industries they represent.
The holidays can be oh-so-busy, but when you’ve had time to settle in for a bit, please have a look at the manifesto on amazon (or whatever book-seller you prefer) and consider purchasing it, if not for you, then for anyone you know that’s a doer, motivated and working to make ideas realities.
It’s an investment they’ll thank you for and you’ll be supporting an independent business. Books make for some of the most valuable items you’ll ever gift. If your goal is to gain knowledge and skills for business building, organization development (such as for a church, not or profit or club), marketing knowledge, community development, or collaborative efforts with colleagues and friends, Café Writer has resources to help you achieve those goals. When you visit the website, you’ll encounter a treasure-trove of superbly valuable resources that are likely to surprise you in how many areas and types of work you’ll be able to use them.
Thank you for the visit and I pray your new year will be brimming with blessings and great grace...
“Every good and perfect gift is from above, coming down from the Father of the heavenly lights, who does not change like shifting shadows,” 1 Chronicles 16:11-12
Shalom!
