Since the Rona (Covid 19) arrived, there’s been a good bit of social platform chatter about hair loss, believed to be linked to the illness. Among my own social circles, many of those who survived the Rona say their hair is damaged and much thinner even many months after their recovery.

Just as I saw conversations about hair damage, loss and thinning, I also came across many folks who’ve been able to correct the trouble with black castor oil. Castor oil works well too, but per my research, black castor oil is said to work much better.

What’s the difference? Castor oil is made from castor beans. Basic castor oil is uncooked and cold-pressed. Black castor oil is made from roasted castor beans, in much the same way as coffee beans.

Per Google:

  • Castor oil is extracted from the cold pressing process which is carried out at room temperature. In this process, the acid value is very low, hence it requires precipitation and filtration to obtain the product. The castor oil obtained from this process contains an abundant amount of nutrients and vitamins.
  • Jamaican black castor oil is derived from Jamaican castor beans. It is believed to support hair growth by ridding the scalp of damaging fungi and toxins. It also works to hydrate hair and skin by locking in moisture.
  • Regular” castor oil is generally pale yellow to clear in color. Jamaican Black Castor Oil is exactly the opposite. The beans are roasted to produce a dark color. The color is actually ash.
Although both types of castor oil work well for hair repair and regrowth, black castor oil is said to work better than the cold-pressed variety.

Also, while there are many other products available to combat hair loss and thinning, black castor oil is an excellent
organic go-to for a homeopathic treatment option. It’s also used for thickening the length and growth of eyebrows and eyelashes.

Below are two vids you can check out, containing personal testimonies of folks who used castor oil for hair repair and regrowth.

Thanks for visiting today! If you've found the information interesting and helpful, or if you have information you'd like to include about black castor oil, I encourage you to leave a note in the comments. I love hearing from you and so will other readers.

Hope you'll be back again for next week's edition.

'Til then,

Shalom
